About Me

My name is Carlie and I’m a Concept Artist and Illustrator in the gaming industry. Previously, I was a concept artist for five years at Age of Learning Inc, where I worked on the MMO game Adventure Academy and the 2D My Reading Academy and My Math Academy games. I designed characters, props, harvestables, illustrations, quests, storyboards, UI and more for our domestic and international products. Prior to that, I worked as a digital painter for Disney Publishing, a graphic designer for The State of California, a clothing design intern for Disney Consumer Products and an artist for TOMS Shoes, Inc.

I love participating in art gallery exhibitions and tabling at anime and comic conventions in Artist Alley!

I have a deep love for JRPG and RPG video games, anime, manga, Disney, collectible toys, 80s fashion, cosplay, traditional painting, baking cookies, reading fantasy romance and my favorite TV show, Mystery Science Theater 3000!

Fun Facts: I used to be a figure skater, I almost went to nursing school instead of becoming an artist, and I wanted to be an orca trainer when I grew up.

Natalie Odien – Design Director at Genvid Entertainment

“I worked with Carlie for several years at Age of Learning. As a game designer, I really appreciated how collaborative she was. I believe products are always better when an artist and designer can envision them together, and Carlie was great at thinking through all her tasks thoroughly and asking the right questions before she even began. It certainly doesn’t hurt that I find her art really cute as well! She designed so many fun and unique items for Adventure Academy, and her outfits were always a hit with the players. It takes a team working closely together to build a great game, and I’m glad Carlie was part of that amazing team!”
